Rockhampton Bruce Highway Intersection Upgrade - Farm Street to Carlton Street

The Rockhampton Bruce Highway Intersection Upgrade enhanced safety, accessibility and network performance across key intersections in North Rockhampton, delivering improved outcomes for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users.

Awarded by the Department of Transport and Main Roads in November 2022, this $30.7 million project delivered upgrades at four intersections along the Bruce Highway. The works included intersection capacity improvements, new signalised pedestrian crossings, upgraded bus stop facilities, replacement of a watermain and associated road regrading at Carlton Street, and improvements to longitudinal drainage throughout the corridor. Delivered within a live traffic environment, the project required careful staging and stakeholder coordination to maintain access and minimise disruption. The completed works provide safer and more efficient connections for all road users while supporting the long-term performance of this important regional transport corridor.
