SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER – CIVIL CONSTRUCTION BRIDGES


Considered as one of Australia’s most trusted and experienced Contractors, McIlwain has a wealth of experience which has enabled us to exceed expectations across almost 400 Projects. We have been Creating Outstanding Community Assets since 1961 through the commitment and enthusiasm of our people.

McIlwain are looking for a Senior Project Engineer (Bridges/Structures) to join their team to help deliver a significant bridgeworks project just south of the Brisbane CBD, QLD.

The position:

· Major Bridgeworks Project
· Project site 15mins from Brisbane CBD

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following:

·Degree qualification in Civil Engineering
·Minimum of 5 years experience in Civil Infrastructure Construction, specifically in the areas of bridgeworks/structures
·Experience on QLD Transport & Main Roads (TMR) Projects
·Ability to drive a strong positive safety culture onsite with a proactive commitment to work health & safety, environment and quality
·Willingness to work as part of a team and to manage teams
·Self-motivated and reliable
·Strongly developed communication, analytical and negotiation skills
·Experience in cost management and reporting
·Experienced in procurement and traffic management also preferred

Contract Administrator – Civil Construction

The Role

McIlwain is seeking applications for a Contract Administrator – Civil Construction POSITION in our Project Delivery team. The successful person will require;

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Contract Administration;
· Experience on Main Roads Projects an advantage;
· Liaison with suppliers and subcontractors;
· Costing & daily docket costing experience would be an advantage

Intermediate Estimator


We are a mid-tier Civil Contractor based in Hemmant, specialising in Roadworks and bridges. We are seeking an intermediate estimator to join our team. Our clients include TMR, RMS, Local Authorities, QR and private developers on projects varying in size from $1m - $50m in value.

We are looking for an individual with the following attributes:

·Construction Experience in Civil, preferably with a reinforced concrete structures bias such as culverts and bridges.
·Building experience would be favourable but not essential.
·Experience with TMR and RMS specifications and requirements.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Relevant tertiary qualifications Civil Engineering preferred.
·A professional work ethic.
·Working knowledge of software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project and experience with Expert Estimation and Primavera is desirable but not essential as full training will be offered to the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

·Reading and interpreting tender documents.
·Assisting with tender procurement packages.
·Liaison with sub-contractors and suppliers regarding pricing and scope.
·Planning and programming works for tender purposes
·Preparing cost estimates from first principals using Expert Estimation software.
·Identifying and valuing opportunities and risks.
·Identifying and assessing opportunities to innovate including alternative tender solutions.
·Producing non-priced tender submissions including:
·Construction methodologies;
·Cash flows
·Temporary works details and sketches
·Staging plans
·Tender issue management plans
·Production of construction budgets for handover to project teams for successful bids.
·Assisting Project Teams with variations.
