Diversity
Where every voice matters
We empower every person to bring their strengths, perspectives and potential to our team.
We’re committed to creating environments where everyone feels included, respected and welcome to contribute as themselves. This includes ensuring accessibility, offering programs that support individual needs and embedding a culture where our members of our team feel heard and valued.
The importance of diversity
At McIlwain we recognise the construction industry thrives when different perspectives, experiences and backgrounds come together. Through our demonstrated behaviours, Diversity Committee, policies, and procedures, we facilitate genuine collaboration and our practices reflect fairness, openness and understanding. This helps us build meaningful connections with our people and the communities we support through our infrastructure.
Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan is an important step in this journey. It formalises our commitment to understanding and celebrating the cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and guides how we engage thoughtfully, respectfully and meaningfully with First Nations communities. Through this work, we’re increasing our awareness, strengthening relationships and ensuring our contribution creates positive, lasting connections and opportunities across the places we work.
