Oakey Roads and Carpark Resurfacing

Located approximately 160 km west of Brisbane, the Oakey Roads and Carpark Resurfacing project involved upgrades to the main carpark, C47 carpark, Orrs Road, and the former B036 Medical Centre site. Delivered under a Department of Defence Medium Works Contract, the works enhanced traffic flow, vehicle safety, and long-term functionality for both personnel and visitors. McIlwain adopted a cost-conscious design methodology by rehabilitating and reusing pavements where possible, supporting value-for-money and sustainability outcomes.

Located approximately 160 kilometres west of Brisbane, the Oakey Roads and Carpark Resurfacing project involved upgrades to the main carpark, C47 carpark, Orrs Road and the former B036 Medical Centre site. Delivered under a Department of Defence Medium Works Contract, the project included pavement rehabilitation, resurfacing and associated civil works to improve the long-term performance and functionality of key transport infrastructure across the barracks. To maximise value and minimise waste, McIlwain adopted a cost-conscious delivery approach that prioritised pavement rehabilitation and reuse wherever feasible, achieving sustainable outcomes while reducing whole-of-life costs for the client.
