D’Aguilar Highway Wide Centreline Treatment
Upgrades along the D’Aguilar Highway west of Kilcoy improved safety and network performance through targeted road widening, intersection improvements and drainage enhancements.
Delivered for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the project targeted a high-risk section of the highway to improve safety and traffic efficiency. The upgrade involved a comprehensive package of road infrastructure improvements designed to reduce the risk of head-on collisions, enhance network resilience and improve access for road users. Delivered within an active transport corridor, the works have significantly improved safety, reliability and connectivity for motorists travelling through the region.

Project Scope
- Widened a 4km section of the D’Aguilar Highway between Moodlu and Wamuran
- Installation of a 1m wide centreline to reduce the risk of head-on crashes
- Upgrades to the Franks Lane and Bye Road intersections with right-turn lanes
- Clearing roadside vegetation to improve visibility
- Installation of new signage to reinforce overtaking rules
- Upgrades to existing drainage, widening shoulders, and extending/replacing culverts
- Installation of safety barriers at key locations
- Completion works including bitumen spray seal, asphalt intersections, line marking, and restoration of property entrances
