Hampton Downslope Remediation

McIlwain delivered emergency slope remediation works along Jenolan Caves Road, restoring a critical transport link for the Hampton community following severe weather events.

Located approximately 1.6 kilometres south of Hampton, the project addressed extensive erosion and geotechnical instability caused by intense rainfall. The works involved a combination of rock bolting, rockfall mesh installation and hydro-mulching to secure the affected embankments and reduce the risk of future failures. Careful planning and efficient delivery enabled the road to be reopened ahead of schedule, while ongoing rehabilitation works supported long-term slope stability, safety and network resilience.
