Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill

Early works package to support the M1 North upgrade program, involving demolition of 50 commercial and residential structures, asbestos management, and construction of three noise walls to improve motorway safety, reduce noise impacts, and enable the main upgrade works.

The works enabled the next stage of the Pacific Motorway upgrade by safely and efficiently removing structures, managing hazardous materials, and delivering noise mitigation measures. McIlwain coordinated closely with property owners, authorities, and subcontractors to successfully maintain access and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Project Scope

  • Demolition and removal of ~50 structures
  • Pre-demolition asbestos audits and safe removal, including friable asbestos
  • 600 m of noise walls (3 - 6 m high) with landscaping reinstatement
  • Backfill with clean general fill and compaction
  • Traffic management and site supervision
  • Relocation/replacement of large business signage
