Cottrill Road Extension

McIlwain delivered the Cottrill Road Extension, upgrading the intersection of Cottrill, Pumicestone and Ardrossan Roads to a four-way signalised intersection. The project improved network performance, enhanced pedestrian safety and supported growing demand associated with the new QSP Caboolture North State School.

The works included extending Cottrill Road to create a new connection between Pumicestone and Ardrossan Roads, together with the construction of concrete footpaths, kerb and channel, drainage infrastructure and Rate 2 road lighting. Given the low-lying nature of the site and its proximity to the water table, specialised road and subgrade treatments were incorporated to achieve long-term pavement performance. Construction staging was carefully planned to maintain access for motorists and pedestrians, with dedicated traffic management during school drop-off and pick-up periods to successfully ensure the safety of students, families and the wider community.
