Dalby Eastern and Western Access Upgrade
The Dalby Eastern and Western Access Upgrades, delivered in joint venture, provided new and upgraded four-lane sections, intersection improvements, and turning lanes along the Warrego and Moonie Highways to improve safety, traffic capacity, and pavement durability.
These projects formed part of the $635 million Warrego Highway Upgrade Program between Toowoomba and Miles. Delivery required careful staging to maintain traffic flow, particularly through Dalby’s busy commercial areas, supported by proactive stakeholder engagement through a dedicated community liaison officer and regular public information sessions.
The upgrades involved extensive earthworks, deep-lift asphalt pavement construction, and intersection reconstructions designed to improve safety, capacity and network efficiency. Environmental and community considerations were carefully managed throughout the works, including noise, traffic impacts and maintaining access for local businesses. The completed projects delivered new signalised intersections, realigned service roads, and upgraded drainage, lighting and roadside infrastructure, providing long-term transport benefits for both road users and the local community.
