Manly Boat Ramp
McIlwain delivered a new boat ramp for the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, enhancing access to Moreton Bay and significantly increasing the facility's capacity to support its operations.
The project involved the construction of a six-lane boat ramp while working within a tidal marine environment required careful planning and precise execution, with all precast panels installed over three consecutive low tides using a crane and specialist dive team. The concrete hardstand was poured and stenciled within a narrow tidal window to ensure quality and minimise disruption to operations. Completed three weeks ahead of schedule, the new facility dramatically increased launching capacity and strengthened the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron’s ability to host multiple sailing regattas and marine events.
