With gender parity still being over 200 years away, this year we are being asked to #pressforprogress in support of International’s Women’s Day.

At McIlwain, we are committed to creating a workplace that champions and empowers women not only to better our business but to help benchmark gender diversity within the construction industry by removing any barriers that may impact both men and women.

It may come as no surprise, but in 2017 women within the construction sector only made up 12% of the industry’s quota according to Workplace Gender Equality Agency. However, research over the past 5 years exemplifies that the number of women in leadership roles is increasing annually as we continue to build bias free workplaces.

To improve, attract, develop and retain women, McIlwain actively promotes fairness within our workforce by ensuring all employees have access to equal opportunities to ensure they can reach their full potential.

We all have the ability to become leaders if we make bold choices and foster change, so let’s #pressforprogress
