McIlwain has been selected by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to deliver the reconstruction works along Lamington National Park Road between Canungra and O’Reilly’s.

This project will repair the damage that was caused by the wet weather event associated with Cyclone Debbie in March 2017. Construction works comprise of batter stabilisation including soil nailing and shotcreting, retaining walls, pavements, drainage and vegetation restoration in order to treat slope failures.

McIlwain’s General Manager Tim McIlwain said “Due to our strong track record in delivering slope stabilisation and rehabilitation projects McIlwain believe we are an industry leader within this space. Our learnings from past projects, including that award winning Gatton – Clifton Road project will help us to deliver a ‘best for project’ solution not only for the client but also for road users.”

“We look forward to working closely with TMR and our supply chains to rebuild this vital piece of infrastructure.”

Construction works will commence in late January 2018 and are expected to be complete by the end of 2018, weather permitting.
