The project involved the construction of new and upgraded bus stops, amendments to left turn slip lane and associated ancillary works at Anzac Avenue bus stops outside Peninsular Fair Shopping Centre, Kippa Ring.

 

PROJECT OVERVIEW 

Demolition and removal of existing kerb and channel Pavement works 
Drainage works 
Upgraded existing drainage grates for bike safety
Installation of  4 bus shelters
Ancillary work Traffic signals upgrade 
Guardrails, guide posts and Signage 
Fencing 
Linemarking 
Landscaping 

 

Works also involved minor road construction, demolition of existing bus stops, construction of bus platforms, erection of bus shelters, vehicle crossovers, fencing, retaining structures, line marking, electrical works for supply to new bus shelters, replacement of a lamppost and street lights, landscaping and traffic signals upgrading. These new bus shelters provide a more comfortable experience for commuters with added seating options and protective refuge to minimise exposure to the weather.

McIlwain carefully staged the works to ensure that bus transport remains operational throughout the entire construction phase and to ensure pedestrian safety especially those with special needs (vision and mobility impaired).
